Hospitex International has signed an agreement with the Jizzakh branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Oncology and Radiology of Uzbekistan, with the aim of assessing the feasibility of a potential national screening project based on the Urine24 model.
The collaboration represents an important first step in evaluating the introduction of an organized urinary tract cancer screening program within the Uzbek healthcare system.
A comprehensive feasibility study
Activities have already begun and will analyze the technical, operational, regulatory, financial, and organizational conditions necessary for the potential launch of a pilot screening program.
The study will include:
- definition of the screening pathway and operational flow;
- assessment of laboratory capacities and logistical aspects;
- analysis of the applicable legal and regulatory framework;
- financial modeling of the project;
- analysis of potential funding strategies;
- a mission to Uzbekistan with the participation of Hospitex representatives.
Upon completion of the study, Hospitex will prepare a Project Operational Document, intended to support the institutional evaluation of the initiative and the eventual development of the subsequent implementation phase.
Subject to the positive outcome of the feasibility study and the completion of the necessary institutional and contractual procedures, the parties may evaluate an initial implementation phase, with an estimated value of approximately 1 million euros.
The Urine24 screening model
Urine24 is a screening model developed by Hospitex International to promote the early diagnosis of urinary tract cancers through a non-invasive, modular, and scalable diagnostic pathway.
The model is designed to adapt to healthcare systems characterized by different levels of laboratory infrastructure, diagnostic capacity, and territorial organization. Its structure allows for the coordination of sample collection, cytological analysis, diagnostic follow-up, and patient referral for further testing within an organized screening pathway.
The project in Uzbekistan will therefore evaluate not only the diagnostic component but also all the organizational elements necessary to create a sustainable program that can be progressively extended to a wider population.
An international collaboration born in Florence
The collaboration began following an institutional visit to the Hospitex International headquarters in Florence, organized as part of the Health Study Tour promoted by the ICE Agency.
During the visit, healthcare delegations from several Asian countries had the opportunity to learn more about Hospitex’s technologies, production capabilities, and experience in the fields of cytology and oncology diagnostics.
The agreement with the Uzbek Oncology Institute reflects the growing international interest in integrated and scalable solutions for cancer prevention and early diagnosis. It also represents the start of a collaborative journey aimed at evaluating how the Urine24 model can be adapted to the clinical and organizational needs of Uzbekistan.
