The BLOCKfast method requires 50 ml conical bottom bottles, a benchtop centrifuge with related adapters and standard histological cassettes.
Cytoinclusions in monolayer or 3D modeling
The sample aggregated in the BLOCKfast matrix can be transferred directly into the histological cassette in monolayer mode or can be modelled by the operator to give the desired shape and thickness.

BLOCKfast is the innovative kit from Hospitex International for fast cell blocking (cytoinclusion) at room temperature.
Through a simple and safe chemical reaction between two reagents (R1, R2), it is possible to block cytological samples within a particular aggregating matrix in a quick and safe manner.
Compared to traditional agar-based methods, BLOCKfast does not require heating or cooling of the chemical components.
Our blocking matrix is highly penetrable by alcohol and clarifying agents, enabling the fast processing of the samples before they are embedded in paraffin.
